Editorial Policy

This page explains how Ar Okihere plans, writes, checks and updates the guides we publish, so you can judge how much weight to give them.

Our Purpose

We write for people trying to buy a home who want plain explanations of costs, regions, property types and the buying process. Every article should help you make a better decision or ask a better question of the professionals you hire.

How Topics Are Chosen

Topics come from the questions home buyers search for most often. Related articles are planned together as a group, so that each guide covers its own angle and links to the others instead of repeating them.

How Articles Are Written

  • Each guide follows a consistent structure: a direct answer up front, step-by-step sections, comparisons where useful, and common questions answered at the end.
  • Some articles are drafted with the help of writing tools. Every article is then checked against our editorial checklist for structure, clarity and accuracy before it is published.
  • We write in plain language and avoid hype. Where an option is not worth the money, we say so.

Numbers and Sources

Prices, premiums and tax figures are presented as general ranges and labelled as estimates. We do not invent statistics or attribute figures to organisations we have not checked. When we link to an outside source, we choose established public or industry sources where possible.

Independence and Advertising

The site may carry ads from third-party networks. Advertisers do not choose topics, review articles or influence our conclusions. We do not accept payment for coverage, and we do not currently use affiliate links.

Corrections and Updates

Housing markets and regulations change. When we learn that something is wrong or out of date, we review the article and correct it. If you see an error, send the article link and details through our Contact page.
